Osaka midori no hyaku-sen (21-30)

Date of photo: 2021/09

This is a really pleasant park to walk along. The park is very long, and it is not immediate where the M100 stone should be intuitively placed. It is in the park, in the stretch running between the intersection 新庄ガード南 (north) and あやめ橋 (south).

Date of photo: 2022/10

We had been in the vicinity of this one many times for tennis practice between 2018 and 2019, though had not stopped by for some time, so it was nice to get back out there. The M100 stone is right nearby the temple actually called 忍頂寺, also known as 寿命院. We drove up, parked at the sports center (with tennis courts), and walked the rest of the way to the temple.

A lovely temple, now extremely crowded with tourists. The M100 stone is right in front of the main gate.

This one was easy enough to find; just walk along the 市道才ヶ原線.

This one is slightly tricky. One might expect the M100 stone to be right in front of the big waterfall, or near the main entrance to the park, but neither is the case. If you look at a map of the area, there is a road for regular traffic (as opposed to foot traffic) just northeast of the big waterfall. This can be accessed easily by foot by climing up a steep path which branches off from the main path leading to the waterfall. The stone is along this road, on the left-hand side, walking north a very short distance.

This one is easy to find. A nice little park for kids to play in as well.

Date of photo: 2022/08

A lovely shrine. It was a very hot August day when we first visited, and abruptly started to rain just as we arrived; fortunately there was a nice rest area for taking shelter.

Date of photo: 2023/01

This is not the easiest M100 stone to find, especially considering how vague the name is. Starting from the train station 妙見口駅, seek out the 初谷渓谷コース for hiking up 妙見山. The stone reveals itself a short ways after entering the forest at the base of the mountain; virtually no altitude gain is required.

This one is also somewhat vague, but the M100 stone is on the top of the mountain, within the temple, located near a large bell tower. It should also be noted that the official name differs from what is actually written on the stone, namely

Super easy to find, and a great spot to visit. We've been to this area probably twenty times or more.
