Osaka midori no hyaku-sen (41-50)
41. 薫蓋樟
Date of photo: 2021/08
The tree is huge, and can be spotted from a fair distance away, but even though, this shrine (三島神社, read as mitsushima-jinja) is buried in the middle of a residential area, and may require a bit of wandering around the maze-like streets to find, but assuredly persistence will pay off. The M100 stone is positioned front and center, convenient for photos.
42. 砂子の桜
Date of photo: 2022/01
This canal (named sunago) is among the most well-known sites in Kadoma city for enjoying sakura blossoms in the spring. The M100 stone is on the east side of what is essentially (I believe) the northernmost tip of the section of the canal where sakura are plentiful.
43. 生駒の山なみ
Date of photo: 2023/07
No M100 stone here, unfortunately, but the views are of course spectacular, with all sorts of nice hikes up and down the mountain both on the Osaka and Nara sides.
44. 鴻池会所跡
Date of photo: 2022/07
This was an excellent spot with lots of great information on the history of how the area was developed. The M100 stone is quite easy to find on the outskirts. For those interested, the engraving on the stone is 鴻池新田会所, in contrast with the officially documented name.
45. なるかわ園地と芝生広場
Date of photo: 2023/07
It is quite a climb to get up to this park, but easy to find the M100 stone in the area called ぼくらの広場. No shortage of maps along the way, so it should be easy.
46. 枚岡公園と梅林
Date of photo: 2022/09
The M100 stone is at the front gate of the 梅林, you can't miss it. Excellent park, situated right next to an important and well-known shrine.
47. 川中邸の屋敷林
Date of photo: 2022/09
This is another beauty, a fantastic collection of plant life. The M100 stone is on the outskirts, not too hard to find.
48. 室池
Date of photo: 2022/11
This park is huge, and a lot of fun to explore, though the M100 stone took a while for us to find. It is located on the south side of the 中堤.
49. くろんど園地とすいれん池
Date of photo: 2022/05
Driving up to this park from the Osaka side in the north-most parking lot was a bit of an adventure in itself (narrow roads...), but it was a lot of fun. I cannot recall how we figured out where the M100 stone was located, but in any case, it is quite close to the the south-most 休憩所, on a little hill very close to the 浮見堂. It would probably be quite straightforward to walk directly there from Kisaichi station (Keihan).
50. 源氏の滝
Date of photo: 2022/05
This waterfall is one of the 8 scenic points in Katano city (交野八景), and so a brief search should tell you how to get there. It was surprisingly crowded when we visited, with young kids playing around; quite lively. A very nice waterfall as well.
