Subtle anthropology in and around Osaka
Having lived in the Kansai area of Japan for many years now, I've really grown to enjoy finding and documenting little gems left by governing bodies of yesteryear. I am not an anthropologist, but I do enjoy thinking about how people behave and spend their time and money, and how these trends change over time. At the same time, I really like to walk long distances and explore new areas. These two interests coincide nicely with what I like to call "subtle anthropology." Whether or not this term is appropriate is debatable; take a look at what I have documented here, and judge for yourself.
